The Petite Sweet Potato Hamper offers a compact selection of five unique varieties: Beauregard, Bophelo, IPC Yellow (Dagga), Ndou and Purple Purple. Designed for smaller gardens or growers who want to sample a bit of everything, this hamper provides a colourful and flavour-rich introduction to sweet potato diversity.

Included in the hamper:

• Beauregard – Orange-fleshed and sweet with smooth skin and early harvests
• Bophelo – Creamy-yellow flesh with firm texture, bred in South Africa for strong local performance
• IPC Yellow (Dagga) – Traditional golden-yellow roots with mild flavour and good drought tolerance
• Ndou – A white-fleshed variety that produces large roots and handles tough conditions well
• Purple Purple – Striking deep purple flesh with an earthy, mildly sweet taste

Each slip is disease-free and ready to be planted directly into the soil. Plant 5 to 10 cm deep in fertile, loose soil once night temperatures stay above 15°C. Water thoroughly after transplant to encourage strong rooting.

Sweet potatoes prefer full sun and well-drained soil. Space runners 25 to 30 cm apart in rows 90 to 100 cm apart. Maturity ranges from 90 to 120 days, depending on variety and conditions. Maintain even moisture early, reducing watering later to help tubers bulk up.
