This is our third season growing Blue Peters - they're a staple fresh bean crop in our home garden here in George. Very ornamental leaves and flowers, and the purple pods make it easier to spot the beans on the vine to harvest. Picked before the pods swell, it's one of the most tender beans we've had (if you wait too long, they can get quite stringy, but after stringing them, they're still tender). It's also our toddler's firm favourite!

Pretty, delicious and prolific beans - these just keep on going! Highly recommended.

Germinated and fruited well. Mine did not change to purple but stayed green. Very tasty though.

I have grown these for the past 4 seasons. Other varieties of runner beans come and go in my garden. These stay, as they bear prolific quantities of beautiful, great tasting beans.

Excellent and prolific variety! Consistently produces loads of beautiful purple beans. Only drawback is that the beans aren't fleshy like the green beans the family are used to. Didn't stop me serving them up steamed. Almost nutty flavour. Will definitely plant again!
