Livingseeds supplies plant-ready tubers, so there is no need for chitting. Plant directly into well-prepared, warm soil at least 10 °C at a depth of 10 to 15 cm. Space tubers 30 cm apart with 75 cm between rows. As a late-maturing variety, expect a growing period of around 120 to 130 days before harvest.

In the field, Alverstone Russet shows strong resilience. It offers good resistance to scab and Potato Cyst Nematode Pa2 and Pa3 and stores exceptionally well when cured and held in cool conditions. Its oblong, russet-skinned tubers harvest cleanly and maintain their quality over time, making it a preferred choice for both processing and home use.
