Brinjals / Eggplants

Eggplant (a.k.a. brinjal and aubergine) is a warm-season crop that requires high temperatures for germination and good overall growth. Start plants off indoors in seedling trays a full 6 weeks before you intend to transplant them. Most plants require over 90 days from transplanting to start producing fruit, so mark your first frost date and work back to know when your last planting date is. Do not plant outside until at least 3 weeks after your last frost date.

Well-tended plants will grow waist-high and produce abundantly for a number of months, so ensure that your soil and plants are properly fed to ensure good production.
