Solanum lycopersicum
Available for purchase from 1 July 2025
Your Majesty is a stately heirloom tomato hailing from the cooler regions of Eastern Russia. This indeterminate variety is revered for its grand appearance and exceptional yield. The fruit is large, heart-shaped, and matures to a glowing canary yellow or soft orange, standing out with its royal presence in the garden. Bred to impress, this tomato brings both size and substance to the table.
Fruits typically weigh between 350 and 500 grams, with well-grown specimens sometimes exceeding a full kilogram. The flesh is dense and meaty, containing very few seeds and offering a juicy, almost citrus-sweet flavour with low acidity. This makes it a superb choice for slicing fresh, crafting golden sauces, or preserving for winter use. The balance of sugar and brightness gives it a well-rounded flavour that appeals to those who favour mild, sweet tomatoes.
Start seeds indoors six to ten weeks before the last frost date. Sow them 5 millimetres deep in a moist, well-drained germination mix and maintain a temperature of 23 to 28 degrees Celsius. Germination usually occurs in 7 to 14 days. Once seedlings appear, provide strong light to encourage compact, vigorous growth.
Transplant into full sun after the final frost, once nighttime temperatures stay above 15 degrees Celsius. Allow at least 60 centimetres between plants and provide strong stakes or cages, as vines can grow over two metres tall. Fruit begins to mature around 85 days after transplanting and continues to produce generously throughout the season.
Your Majesty is a perfect choice for gardeners looking for a majestic, richly flavoured yellow tomato that excels in both beauty and performance. Its long harvest window and reliable productivity make it a standout in any tomato collection.
