Solanum lycopersicum

An heirloom cross between Green Zebra and a black tomato. A great-tasting medium-sized tomato. The fruit colour is a medium dark colour, with prominent green brushstrokes on a dark burgundy/brown skin. Once cut open, the black tomato colour stands out. The flavour is typical of black tomatoes – rich, deep, and very little acid.

This early-season variety produces masses of trusses that ripen over a few weeks.

Ready for harvest in 90 days after transplant.

While it's not an incredible producer, it's a very good tomato. The flavour is excellent, low acidity, some catfacing but not too pronounced. Definitely one to plant every year for taste - goes great on pizza!

I compared several varieties, and this was definitely the sweetest and best tasting. Not such an amazing yield, but I think maybe it was a bit cramped in its pot. I will definitely plant this variety again, but give it more space.
