Pelargonium cucullatum

A fast growing plant mostly found from Saldanha to Baardskeerdersbos. Requiring full sun and little to minimum attention once established, this plant is perfect for container gardening, borders and rockeries. The beautiful pink to purple flowers will attract birds, butterflies, long-beaked flies and moths.

The leaves have a sweet and strong smell when crushed.

The seeds have a "feathered tail" which help them settle and drill into the soil to protect them while growing from animals disturbing them and if they are twisted around by strong winds.
