Cucumis melo

Also known as a cucumber melon. This stunning scalloped fruit looks beautiful cut into rounds and adds interest to a salad. The flesh is light and crisp with a tender sweet skin (no peeling required here). For the best flavour and texture, pick them young at 25-30cm in length. They can grow into mini submarines in a couple of days if left on the vine.

A heavy producer that is well worth growing both for the quantity and sublime flavour.
