Dovyalis caffra
Kei Apples are native to South Africa and are named after the Kei River in the Eastern Cape region. They are rare and considered to be a berry.
The evergreen trees produce small fruits that are round and oblate. The fruits ripen from green to a beautiful golden yellow colour of about 5cm in diameter.
The succulent and soft fruits range in flavour from tart to sweet. The fruits can contain anything between 5-15 seeds.
The fruits are mostly preserved, as the acidic tart fruit is not always palatable.
Standard packet contains approx. 10 seeds
No petite packets for this variety
