• Sibirskiy Velikan Rozovyi Tomato

Solanum lycopersicum

Sibirskiy Velikan Rozovyi, is a celebrated heirloom tomato from Siberia. This variety has gained international recognition for producing large, rosy pink fruits on tall, vigorous plants. Its origins in a cool climate make it especially valued for resilience and dependable harvests, even under less-than-ideal growing conditions.

The fruits are smooth, slightly flattened beefsteaks that typically weigh between 350 and 450 grams. Their flavour is rich and well balanced, combining sweetness with gentle acidity. Gardeners often compare it to Brandywine for taste, though it offers a firmer texture and more consistent yields. Russian Big Pink is excellent for slicing, fresh eating and rustic cooking where bold tomato flavour is the star.

Begin seed indoors six to eight weeks before the last expected frost. Sow seeds 5 millimetres deep in moist, well-draining germination mix and maintain a temperature of 22 to 28 degrees Celsius. Germination generally occurs within 7 to 14 days. As soon as seedlings appear, place them in bright light to promote strong, compact growth.

Transplant outdoors only after all danger of frost has passed. Choose a sunny site with rich, composted soil and allow at least 60 centimetres between plants. Russian Big Pink grows vigorously and can reach up to two metres tall, so provide sturdy support early. The first fruits ripen about 75 to 80 days after transplanting and harvest continues steadily through the season.

This Siberian heirloom is ideal for gardeners who want reliable, high-quality slicers with classic flavour and impressive size. Sibirskiy Velikan Rozovyi is directly translated as Siberian Big Pink and delivers beauty, productivity and taste in every harvest.
