Abelmoschus esculentus

Native to Ghana, this okra's name literally translates to tall okra. Solomon Amuzu in Ghana is our supplier of this fantastic heritage okra variety. The plants can grow to well over 3m tall and produce tender dark green pods that can have a flash of red on them.

Solomon says that they are able to keep this plant growing for years, ensuring almost constant harvests in tropical to subtropical climates. The plants can be pruned to keep fruits and flowers close at hand. Uniquely, the leaves of this variety can also be cooked in soups, curries and stews.
