Papaver setigerum

Poppy of Troy is a beautiful dwarf poppy variety. Originally believed to be a wild ancestor of the true opium poppy, genetic sequencing has now proven that assumption to be false. One of the medicinal benefits of this poppy is the belief that consuming petals will help sooth a cough. The petals are a stunning pinky-purple with dark purple hearts, this give the Poppy of Troy a very distinctive look.

In general, poppies are really easy to grow and are best planted in early to mid winter, once the soil starts to cool.

Poppies do not like to be transplanted so direct sowing is advisable. Cold tolerant and really easy to grow.
