Allium porrum

An incredibly old European leek variety known from the early 1880s. This variety is well known for its medium to large-sized stems, that have a consistent quality with a mild flavour. Best planted in mid to late summer for a winter harvest. The flavour will improve after the first frost when growth slows down.

Ready for harvest in 90+ days.

Low germination and those few seeds that germinated seemed to have no interest in life. I have successfully grown spring onion from seed so I'm not sure what went wrong. I tried twice. Same 20% germination.

These are just beautiful! Quick to germinate, pests don't love them, really easy crop. Beautiful flavor and you can let them get as small or as big as you want. Planted them in pots and feed them regularly and I was set.
