Phaseolus vulgaris

This compact bush produces stunning pods that contain light coloured, creamy butter beans. They cook up beautifully adding a sublime texture and flavour to cooked dishes, perfect for those hearty winter stews and casseroles. Not great as a green bean, but really comes into its own as a dry or shelly bean.
