Capsicum chinense

A.k.a. Death Pepper, this extremely hot pepper is an open-pollinated variant of Naga Bubblegum Red, originally grown by Terry Smith in the UK, and is a relatively new strain. 

The unevenly ridged pods mature from light green to peach, to orange, and finally to red. The pointed ends occasionally produce a scorpion-like tail. The flavour ranges from floral to fruity, with an extreme upfront burn and citrus undertones.
