Beanflo is Soygro’s specialised liquid inoculant developed for beans, offering an efficient way to maximise nitrogen fixation and overall plant vitality. Containing the active strain Rhizobium leguminosarum biovar phaseoli, Beanflo forms nodules on the roots of bean plants, converting atmospheric nitrogen into a usable form. This symbiotic relationship not only enhances soil fertility but also improves phosphorus uptake and encourages robust vegetative growth.

The action of Beanflo begins when its rhizobia colonise the root zone and form nodules, which are tiny, rounded structures where nitrogen fixation occurs. These bacteria play a crucial role in reducing the need for synthetic nitrogen fertilisers. The application of nitrogen fertilisers will in fact reduce the nodulation so the correct fertiliser choices need to be made.

Beanflo is best applied as a drench directly in the soil once the bean planting has had an adequate germination, 1-2 weeks after germination is the sweet spot, however application will be beneficial at any point before flowering. Mix 1 x 2ml vial into 5lt of water and drench your planting.

For optimal results, Beanflo should be used at every planting and it is especially valuable in systems seeking to improve biological fertility and eliminate chemical inputs. As the Soygro inoculum is a living product, once opened, it cannot be stored and must be used immediately. It is best to apply the inoculum as soon as you have planted the seed so that the biologicals are available to attach to the root as soon as the seed germinates.
