Sclerostop is Soygro’s answer to the persistent threat of Sclerotinia, a devastating fungal disease that affects crops such as soybeans, drybeans, and sunflowers. Its strength lies in its active ingredient, Coniothyrium minitans, a mycoparasitic fungus that specifically targets and neutralises the sclerotia of Sclerotinia and related genera in both soil and plant tissues. Designed for preventive application, Sclerostop is most effective when used during canopy development or as a pre-seasonal treatment on preceding crops to reduce future disease pressure.

The action of Sclerostop begins in the soil where the fungus is attracted to sclerotia by root exudates. It invades the hardened sclerotia structures, colonising them internally and forming pycnidia on their surfaces. Over several weeks, these infected sclerotia disintegrate, dramatically lowering the soil’s disease reservoir. The pycnidia can remain viable in the soil for up to a year, offering long-term protection. This makes Sclerostop a powerful tool for integrated disease management in crops vulnerable to stem and collar rot.

Sclerostop is mixed and applied as a soil drench. Mix 1 x 2ml vial into 5lt of water and drench the affected soil.
