Asparagus officinalis

Also known as Mary's Granddaughter, this variety was developed at the University of California Davis. It is a prolific producer of larger spears (thicker than Mary Washington) and fairly compact heads.

UC 72 is more heat and drought-tolerant than other asparagus varieties, and is also tolerant to Fusarium wilt, crown rot, and rust.
